Heather-borough or Lion-borough?

Heather-borough or Lion-borough? Considering all the lion symbology in the city, I'm definitely leaning towards the latter.

"Linköping's coat of arms can be traced back to August 1, 1300, when the oldest known seal for Linköping was used in a parchment letter. The letter was written by a churchman named Finvid, who says he wants to transfer a farm he owns to Linköping's pin. [Source needed] In this first seal there is a lion that also adorns today's city guns. Research suggests that the seal is a heraldic abbreviation of Bjälbo-family weapons. [1] An explanation for the weapon's motif, which is considered less likely, is that it would be speaking and standing for a Latinized form of the city's name, Leonkopung, that is, "Lionborough".

These "concrete lions" are increasingly being put up in Stockholm and Linköping. They are used as decoration and to stop traffic in certain areas. In the concrete jungle, the concrete lions run supreme as kings?

Another interesting article relating to these concrete lions:

"Now, almost 10 months later, her father is considering suing the Swedish government over lack of security on Drottninggatan, where “concrete lions” are standing to supposedly prevent such an event.
Thomas Bodström, a former politician for the Social Democratic Party and the father’s lawyer, told SVT that the lions are too light and stand too far apart from each other.
In the days following the attack, Stockholm announced that more lions would be put out to strategically make vehicle-ramming attacks “impossible”, according to Expressen.
When asked about these recent measures to secure citizens lives, Thomas Bodström asks: “Why weren’t this done earlier? You don’t need much fantasy to think that things like this actually can happen. These people — Ebba — wouldn’t have died if these measures had been taken in time,” the lawyer said."

The Wallenberg family comes from Östergötland and the surrounding area around Linköping. They stayed in Linköping from vicar Marcus Wallenberg the elderly (1744-1799) until André Oscar Wallenberg (1816-1886) moved to the capital in 1856 to establish the Swedish Enskilda (separate/independent) Bank, SEB. Since then, Stockholm has been the home base of the Wallenbergs.

André Oscar Wallenberg's poor attempt to grow a lion's mane:
Out of André Oscar's great, great, great e tc sons, the current generation of Wallenbergs who are in charge of the family's banking and buisness conglomerate, Investor (or Infestor, if you're critical over the power and control they have over the country), the only one of the brothers who are going for a lion's mane, is Peter "Poker" Wallenberg to the left.

How come this relatively small town, only the seventh largest city in Sweden, with a small population of 106 502 citizenshouses so much lion statues, pictures, names e tc? Apart from the capital Stockholm, you're ain't gonna found such a concentration of lion symbology ANYWHERE else in Sweden.

I'll keep updating the blog with lion related stuff when I'm in town visiting and if I find something good.
